GEM is very close to pyramids and the building itself is stunning enough, let alone all precious pieces displayed. The best section is definitely King Tut exhibition.

GEM is amazing. Plan to spend at least one full day there. Be mindful that hours are different (shorter) on certain days. I visited twice during my two week trip and took around 1,600 photographs alone. I went solo, without a guide, having a good deal of Egyptian knowledge already. I would like to return now with a guide to round out the full experience.

Brilliant museum but it lacks critical information. To get the most out of the experience, visitors need a basic appreciation of kings and pharaonic history, otherwise they will quickly get statue fatigue and head for King Tut’s wonderful display and bypass the rest.

This is without a doubt, the best museum in the world (and I have been to many)! Just jaw dropping! I am lost for words. Not only an unimaginable feet of architectural engineering, the thought and planning that has gone in to this beautiful place is breathtaking. As for the exhibits, you’ll need to visit to appreciate but you are in for a life-changing experience.
