Marsa Mubarak is a sheltered bay just north of Marsa Alam, known for calm, shallow water and frequent encounters with sea turtles, seagrass-grazing dugongs, and seahorses. Its easy shore and boat access make it one of the area's most rewarding snorkeling spots for all levels.
Ringed by seagrass meadows and coral patches, Marsa Mubarak is a protected-feeling bay where wildlife comes close. Green turtles are a common sight, and lucky snorkelers may spot the elusive dugong feeding on the seabed, alongside guitarfish and the occasional spinner dolphin.
The bay is typically visited on a guided snorkeling tour from Marsa Alam, by boat or directly from shore. Tours include equipment and a guide who knows where the wildlife gathers, which greatly improves the chance of a memorable encounter while keeping a respectful distance.
